Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers is a newer addition to the Clarksville scene opening in August 2017, Freddy’s offers a wide arrange of burgers, sandwiches, French fries, onion, rings and more.
Freddy’s is located at 2100 Wilma Rudolph Boulevard and are known for their cooked-to-order steakburgers that pair well with their signature freshly-churned frozen custard.
Freddy’s has dozens of locations in 30 states including Tennessee and Kentucky with locations in Clarksville, Tenn., Hopkinsville, Ky.
Their dining room is now open with increased safety measures and operational adjustments.
They ask that you please observe social distancing and offer carry-out, drive-thru, and DoorDash delivery in some locations.
Kelly’s Big Burger has been serving up its old-fashion burgers on the river in a traditional diner setting for decades. They yield good reviews noting their affordable pricing and down home flavor. Kelly’s only accepts cash, but they do have an ATM in the building. They are located at 405 N. Riverside Drive.
Johnny’s Big Burgers opened in 1965. This College Street landmark aims to make the best burgers and fries in town. With their burgers grilled up and served hot, you can top it however you want, and pair it with French fries and a fried honey bun with ice cream. A Clarksville staple, Johnny’s is located at 428 College Street. As with Kelly’s, Johnny’s is cash only.
Strawberry Alley Ale Works offers a truly local burger with locally raised barker beef, local cheese, local bun and even homemade pickles and sauces. To try this taste of local flavor, visit them at 103 Strawberry Alley.
Liberty Park Grill has an array of cheeseburgers from their signature Liberty Park Cheeseburger to their Black and Bleu burger, Texas Burger and more. It’s all the tradition of a classic cheeseburger with a lot of zip, zing and yum in their fresh toppings, bun, and sauces. Blackhorse Pub and Brewery, a local favorite spot offers burgers with some interesting names and deliciously fun flavors. You can try the Cletus (served with tomato jam and pimento cheese), the Diablo, Cowboy, The Hangover and more at Blackhorse. If you just want a classic cheeseburger, they have that too. Ferrell’s Hamburgers located in Hopkinsville, Ky. is known for their hand-pressed burgers, and recently reopened in Feb. 2020 after a fire closed them temporarily. They are located at 1001 S Main Street and offer a full menu including chili and pie.
