CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Staff members from Clarksville Pediatric Dentistry have been spreading the good new about taking care of your teeth during February which is National Dental Health Month. They have been visiting to local elementary schools and day cares sharing a very special program about dental health.
Friday, February 14, Valentines Day, over 200 kindergartners and first graders at Barker’s Mill Elementary School were treated to a special performance
featuring characters like Mikey Molar and the Tooth Fairy.
Angie Savage with Clarksville Pediatric Dentistry said there are two different programs they offer for children. One is a skit with super dental heroes and a giant tooth as well as another with a puppet show. Savage added they have done dozens of shows and the purpose of each performance is to promote good dental health.
Principal of Barkers Mill, Rhonda Kennedy talked about the importance of the children learning about good dental health. “I hope they’ve learned they need to visit the dentist on a regular basis and they’re mindful of brushing their teeth and flossing each day. Just taking care of their bodies,” said Kennedy.
