CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Fort Campbell Leadership announced today that they would make the difficult decision of cancelling this year’s USO Ten Miler, 5K and Free Fun Run, originally scheduled for Saturday, March 14, as they work to keep the Fort Campbell Community healthy and well.

“I’m still processing the news,” said an email from USO official Kari Moore. “This race is an absolute labor of love for me, and I am sad to my core. But I understand their concern for the Service Members and the Military Families, and I respect their decision.”

With options for rescheduling currently limited, Fort Campbell USO is encouraging supporters to transition into the virtual 5k or virtual 10 miler. With the virtual options, participants complete their run on their own and email a either a screenshot of a tracking app or photo of a watch and treadmill readout to kmoore@uso.org. Runners will then be sent their medal for completion.

Anyone having trouble logging into their Run Sign Up account and transferring to a virtual race may also email kmoore@uso.org for assistance.

Those who don’t want to participate in the virtual race may contact kmoore@uso.org to request a refund; though, USO officials hope runners will still be willing to participate.

“We would love to consider your race registration as a donation in support of the USO mission to strengthen America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home, and country throughout their service to the nation,” said Moore. “But I understand that some may want a refund.”
