CROFTON, Ky (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Severe storms and strong winds blasted Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee overnight Monday, March 2 into Tuesday morning. Reports of tornadoes came in from both Kentucky and Tennessee.
After surveying the area of Crofton, Ky Tuesday afternoon officials with the National Weather Service in Paducah confirmed an EF-1 tornado did touch down in the area.
Peak winds reach 90 MPH damaging property and farmland. The supercell thunderstorm stretched over 150 miles from Missouri to Kentucky, according to NWS-Paducah.
Crofton, Ky is in the northern part of Christian County, just north of Hopkinsville.
Officials say this is the sixth confirmed tornado in Christian County in 2020.
