CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Miss Black Clarksville Scholarship Pageant crowned a 2020 winner.

Sh’Niya Horn was crowned the 2020 Miss Black Clarksville on February 22, 2020, at the pageant held at Kenwood High School.

Horn is a junior at Fisk University and a member of the Fisk Basketball Team. Horn is majoring in Human Development and Leadership. Upon completing her undergraduate degree, and post-graduate studies, she plans to earn her Ph.D. and become a licensed clinical and developmental therapist. In addition, she serves in the military reserves.

Horn attended Northeast High School and graduated in 2017.  Her platform is to promote Mental Health Awareness, support Salama Urban Ministries. She will participate in the Miss Black Clarksville Scholarship Program community outreach activities.

The Miss Black Clarksville Scholarship Contestants were judged on sports-wear, talent, evening wear, and on-stage interviews. In addition, the contestants were required to select a platform they felt strongly about and support it through community service.

The senior contestants that competed for the title of Miss Black Clarksville 2020 were: Timariel Carraway, Jazmyne Naylor, Keyera Williams, and Sh’Niya Horn.

Those that competed in the other categories were: Junior Miss: Almoni Clark, Keyaira Jefferson, Syaciera Jefferson, JaTeara Jefferson, Khayla Maduka, Shyre Mazique, Aniyah Scott, Aniyah Scott, and MaKayla Walker.

The winners were:

Junior Miss 2020: MaKayla Walker.

Little Miss Contestants 2020: Khamiyah Bongham, Bri’Aira Jefferson, Sienna Lewis, and Lazaariah Northington.

Little Miss 2020: Lazariah Northington.

Mini Miss: Caiyah Ricks remains Mini Miss.

Miss Black Clarksville Scholarship Program is a non-profit cooperation that is operated by all community volunteers. The program promotes one hundred percent graduation rate, and it has increased community support for higher education and awarded over 100 scholarships in the last 15 years. The organization provides enrichment sessions and encourages girls and young ladies to fulfill their dreams.
