CADIZ, KY. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A fatal vehicle collision occurred over the weekend Sunday, January 19 leaving two dead and three injured in Trigg County, Kentucky.
Law enforcement were notified at 7:40 p.m., regarding a possible fatal collision at the intersection of US HWY 68 and KY 139 in Cadiz. Kentucky State Police responded to assist the Trigg County Sheriff department.
Upon investigation, officials believe a Toyota Tacoma collided with a Honda Civic at the intersection of US Hwy 68 and KY 139.
Police believe the driver of the Honda Civic, Brandon Hare, 21 of Cadiz, Ky. failed to yield at a stop sign when his vehicle was struck in the passenger side by the Toyota Tacoma. The Tacoma was driven by Tyler L. Dodson, 24, of Murray, Ky.
Hare was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Hare’s passenger, Jarod A. Ballengee, 20, also of Cadiz, was transported to Trigg County Hospital where he passed away a short time later.
Dodson, and two other passengers in his vehicle, Dorothy S. Dodson, 69, of Fancy Farm, Kentucky and Mason L. Dodson, 23, of Murray, were all transported to Trigg County Hospital. Tyler and Dorothy Dodson were treated and released while Mason Dodson was transferred to Murray-Calloway County Hospital for further treatment.
An autopsy and toxicology for Hare is being conducted today per the request of the Trigg County Coroner.
Kentucky State Police are continuing the investigation.
