CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Austin Peay women’s basketball (1-0) will wrap up a two-game homestand to open up the 2019 season against Christian Brothers at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8.

The Governors look to carry over their hot three-point shooting from last game after knocking down a program-record 18 shots from beyond the arc in a 103-70 win over Kentucky Wesleyan.

Christian Brothers kept their previous game against Memphis close, but eventually fell in an exhibition contest 71-61. Brynne Lytle, the Lady Bucs returning-leading scorer, recorded 29 points and connected three times from long distance.

One of four returning players from a year ago for Christian Brothers, Lauren Taylor added 8 points and 11 rebounds against the Tigers.

While the game against Christian Brothers will count as a regular game for the Govs, like the Kentucky Wesleyan contest, the game will count as an exhibition for the Governors DII foe.

The Governors have played the Lady Bucs all four years of Austin Peay women’s basketball coach David Midlick’s tenure. The Govs have taken the four contests by an average of 25 points, including last season’s lopsided 100-62 win for APSU.

After the Govs do battle with the Lady Bucs, Austin Peay will travel to Illinois to face off against the Fighting Illini in the State Farm Center at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13.
