CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The Clarksville Area YMCA hosted its 9th Annual Tickle Me Pink benefit luncheon for the Y’s After Breast Cancer (ABC) Program.
More than 250 people, wearing pink in one form or another, attended the event which is held each October to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Thursday’s Tickle Me Pink event raised more than $33,000 which included a donation of $8,000 from Clarksville Fire Rescue for the ABC Program.
Elaborately decorated bras returned for the Battle of the Bras contest. The entry from Fortera Credit Union won for most money raised and most online votes on radio station Q108. Judges’ choice winner was the entry from Action Air.
“We came together at our yearly fundraiser to raise money for ABC to keep our program going for our survivors,” said Tammy Thrash, ABC Program Coordinator and Pink Ribbon Trainer. “ABC is a free 16-week program sponsored by donors in the community that works on recovery for ladies after they go through breast cancer. It’s for mind, spirit, and body,”
