CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has announced that one of their officers has received a major promotion and that another will transfer to a new position. Corporal Eric Trout has been promoted to K9 Sergeant, while Sergeant Mike Oliver is transferring to Criminal Investigations Sergeant.
Trout started his career with the MCSO in April 2013 as a K9 Deputy in the Uniform Patrols Bureau. He was promoted to K9 Corporal in March 2019. Prior to working at the Sheriff’s Office, he served in the U.S. Air Force for five years as a Military Policeman. He also spent seven years as a K9 officer for the Federal Reserve Police. Trout brings nearly 18 years of law enforcement experience to his new position.
Oliver began his career with the MCSO in March 1990 as a Jail Deputy in the Detention Services Bureau. In 2001 he transferred to the Uniform Patrol Bureau as a Patrol Deputy. He went on to work as a Criminal Investigator and, in July 2012, was promoted to K9 Sergeant. Oliver brings more than 29 years of law enforcement experience to his new position.
