CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – I Scream for FUEL is looking for local ice cream enthusiasts to submit their favorite creations for their annual “Ice Cream Freeze-Off” charity event on August, 24.
The United Methodist Churches of Mt. Zion, Antioch, Marion and Salem, along with Lone Oak and Memorial Baptist churches, will host the ninth annual “I Scream for FUEL, Ice Cream Freeze-Off.”
The “Freeze-Off” raises money to support the FUEL Program, which provides non-perishable, easy to store food items for young children in Montgomery County Schools. Many children rely on school breakfast and lunch for their primary meals each day. The food supplied by FUEL helps supplement them over the weekend.
Hot dogs will be provided at the event along with all the ice-cream one could want. Attendees will have the chance to vote for their favorite flavor to determine the contest winner. Live music will be provided by the Back Lot Pickers.
There is no entry fee, though guests are encouraged to bring a donation of non-perishable food to support the FUEL program.
If you enjoy making ice cream and would like to enter the “Ice Cream Free-Off,” please contact Carol Ussery at 647-6846. Deadline for entry is Wednesday, August 21st.
For those who prefer to eat ice cream rather than make make it, the event will be held at the Montgomery Central Elementary School Gym at 4011 Highway 48, Cunningham, TN on Saturday, August, 24th from 4–6 p.m.
Donations at the door for FUEL would be greatly appreciated.
