CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Officers responded to an accident on Madison Street near Richview Rd. July 11 around 11:00 a.m. First responders shut down the road for a short time while they cleared the vehicles involved.
A red Hyundai Accent traveling east on Madison Street, driven by a 22-year-old male, attempted a left turn into a parking lot. He failed to yield to an oncoming Ford Ranger. The truck was driven by a 21-year-old male. The impact of the collision caused the Hyundai to be pushed into a Nissan traveling east on Madison St. The third vehicle was driven by a 58-year-old male.
EMS transported the driver of the Ranger and a passenger of the Hyundai to a local hospital. They are being treated for minor, non-life threatening injuries.
Traffic flow on Madison St was interrupted for over an hour while officials worked to clear cars and debris from the road.
The driver of the Hyundai has been cited for Failure to Yield and Operator to Use Reasonable Care.
An investigation, led by CPD Officer Horton, is ongoing and charges are pending for the driver of the Ranger.
