CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Wednesday’s storms left a trail of minor damage in Montgomery County. Ed Baggett, Montgomery County Emergency Management Agency Director, said much of the damage took place in the area of Ryes Chapel Rd., Charlie Rd. and Watkins Ford Rd.

“A lot of trees and power lines were taken down and in that event some structures were damaged,” said Baggett. He added a couple of building suffered minor damage with the others less than that.

As for this coming weekend, heavy rain with a chance of more severe weather is in the forecast. National Weather Service Meteorologist Caroline MacDonald said strong to severe thunderstorms are expected Friday afternoon into the evening and again Saturday afternoon.

Along with the weekend rain and thunderstorms, temperatures are going to be uncomfortable. MacDonald said it’s going to be hot and humid with temperatures in the 90’s with heat index values around 100.
