CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The new 2019 May-August Clarksville Parks & Recreation Activity Guide is now available, offering details about more than 150 programs and events, a detailed map showing all 48 of the department’s parks, trails and facilities, and information about rentals for private functions.
The guide also offers information about 19 new events and programs from May to August in the City’s parks, recreation centers, and pools and includes information about current and upcoming park projects and improvements.
Here are some of the new programs you can find in the 2019 May-August Activity Guide:
- Sensory Movie Night – We’ve partnered with the Clarksville Association for Down Syndrome to host a free showing of “Mary Poppins Returns” for individuals with disabilities and their families from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 18 at Crow Recreation Center.
- Goat Yoga – Participate in yoga while surrounded by trained goats from 9 to 10 a.m. on the fourth Saturday of each month May 25-Oct. 26 at Bel-Aire Park. The fee is $25 per class.
- Parents’ Night Out — Avoid the hassle of finding a sitter and register your child for a night of fun and games from 6 to 9 p.m. on June 7 & 28, July 12, and August 2 at Crow Recreation Center. The fee is $5 per child per evening. Open to children ages 7-12.
- Water Walking Class — Burn up to 550 calories per hour with our newest aquatic fitness class that meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. June 4-27 and July 2-25 at New Providence Pool. The fee is $30 per four-week session.
- Youth Flag Football League — Participants, ages 5-10, will learn about the game of football in a non-contact environment Aug. 24-Oct. 26 at Liberty Park. The fee is $80 per participant.
- Game On — Youth 9-12 can participate in a variety of games and activities from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 12 at Burt-Cobb Recreation Center. The fee is $3 per person.
- Crow Hoops League — This 5-on-5 adult basketball league will take place on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 8 p.m., June 10-July 31 at Crow Recreation Center. Team captains must register their team online. The fee is $200 per team.
- Chair-Fit 4 Fun — Sit to get fit in this music-filled seated exercise class held from 6 to 7 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays, June 10-July 18 at Crow Recreation Center. The fee is $40 per session.
