CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville police are attempting to track down a man who is wanted for assaulting a woman and holding her captive at a local motel.

Police were called to the Winners Circle Motel (3430 Fort Campbell Blvd) April 18 around 6:30 p.m. Based on information provided to officers, a woman in her 20s had been held against her will by an acquaintance in a room for most of the day, punched repeatedly, tied up, threatened with a knife, and had been threatened with death.

The woman was able to escape from the room and call police.

The suspect in the assault has been identified as 33-year-old Mitchell Wadlington. He is 5’7″ and weighs 150 pounds.

When officers entered the room where the victim had been held, they found broken furniture, other items associated with the assault, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

The victim had visible bruises and abrasions. Wadlington has already left the scene when officers arrived. She was transported by ambulance to a hospital.
