CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Pat Hickey, general manager of Clarksville Gas & Water, resigned Thursday after 12 years in the position.

“I want to thank Pat for his long service at Gas & Water and I wish him well,” Mayor Joe Pitts said.

Hickey presented a letter of resignation during a meeting Thursday afternoon with Mayor Pitts and Chief of Staff James Halford.

“We had asked for some changes in operations at Gas & Water,” Pitts said. “We got to a point where we had ‘irreconcilable differences’ of opinions about those changes, so I accepted Pat’s decision to resign and move on.”

Clarksville Gas & Water is one of the largest municipal utilities in Tennessee. Clarksville Gas serves more than 26,000 natural gas customers in five area counties: Montgomery, Cheatham and Robertson counties in Tennessee; Christian and Todd counties in Kentucky, and at Fort Campbell.
