(CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The Sexual Assault Center in Clarksville and Austin Peay State University held the Annual “Walk A Mile” fundraiser Thursday at Fortera Stadium.
Close to 150 people braved the cold to show their support for the center which provides healing for children, adults and families affected by sexual assault.
Clarksville City Councilwoman and former Client Services and Outreach Coordinator for the Sexual Assault Center in Clarksville, Valerie, Guzman, talked about the walk.
“Today we are raising money to support the Sexual Assault Center. That means someone can get therapy who may not have the money, it will pay for an advocate to go to the hospital when someone’s been sexually assaulted,” said Guzman.
