INA, Illinois – Two people from Hopkinsville have died and four others were injured in a Christmas Eve crash on Interstate 57 in southern Illinois.
Authorities say Jill Gibson and an unidentified 13-year-old boy were killed in the two vehicle wreck that took place around 12:40 p.m. Tuesday, December 24. The two were passengers in an SUV. The SUV’s driver and three other passengers, two of them from Hopkinsville, were seriously injured.
Investigators say the SUV was driven by 22-year-old Megan Michelle Hester, of Maryland Heights, Mo. They say she lost control of the vehicle, which crossed the median and was hit by an oncoming tractor-trailer.
