FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Soldiers assigned to the 101st Airborne Division and the 52nd Ordnance Group (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) will continue to return here through March, following a nine-month deployment to Afghanistan.
In total, more than 500 Soldiers with “Task Force Destiny,” 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, and “Task Force EOD,” 723rd Ordnance Company, 184th Ordnance Battalion, 52nd Ordnance Group, will return to welcome home ceremonies.
During their deployment, the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade provided aviation support to U.S., coalition and Afghan forces throughout the Combined Joint Operations Area-Afghanistan. Task Force Destiny exceeded 50,000 flight hours, transporting more than seven million pounds of cargo and 91,000 passengers, and conducting 1,700 security missions and 256 air assault operations.

While deployed, Soldiers of the 723rd Ordnance Company provided explosive ordnance disposal support to Task Force Southeast in Southeastern Afghanistan.
