CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The local chapter of the NAACP will host its annual MLK Community Celebration leading up to a march in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Jan. 21.
The opening celebration and worship service will be held Sunday, Jan. 20 at Christ the Healer Church, located at 1295 Paradise Hill Rd. Doors open at 5 p.m.
Educational workshops for adults and children will be held Monday, Jan. 20 at Burt Elementary School (110 Bailey Street) beginning at 8:30 a.m.
The march will begin Monday at noon and leave from Burt Elementary, heading toward the downtown Clarksville area. The public is invited to attend.
