CHEATHAM COUNTY, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A ceremony was held Monday morning to announce boat manufacturer Caymas Boats is building a new plant in Cheatham County.

WKRN News 2 reports that Caymas Boats is investing more than $30 million to build the plant on Highway 12 South.

The plant will create 280 jobs over the next five years. Caymas Boats will begin making a new line of fiberglass saltwater and freshwater fishing boats in 2019.

The plant will initially manufacture saltwater bay boats up to 27 feet in length, and fiberglass bass boats up to 21 feet long. The company will add additional models in the future.
