Multiple families displaced by fire at Clarksville apartment complex

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville Fire Rescue responded to a fire at Avondale Park Apartments in Clarksville Tuesday morning.

The complex is located on Avondale Dr. off the 41A Bypass.

Fire Marshal Ricky Cumberland said the fire was extinguished by 10:45 a.m. When firefighters arrived, the building was engulfed in heavy smoke and flames.

At least four families have been displaced by the fire, but up to eight families may be without a home, according to Cumberland. The Red Cross is on the scene to assist the families.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
