CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Visitors to the Clarksville Regional Airport likely noticed some unique aircraft on the tarmac this week.
The four planes, which are Bell Boeing V-22 Ospreys, are in Clarksville through Sunday while the Marines conduct a special training mission, according to Josh Vaughn with the Clarksville Regional Airport.
The Marines conducting the operation are part of a reserve unit from Virginia and will return to the area periodically for similar training exercises.
Vaughn said the Ospreys are capable of vertical takeoff and long-range high speed cruising.
