CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Voter registration in Tennessee ended October 9, and officials at the Montgomery County Election Commission have been busy entering newly registered voters into the system.

According to Administrator of Elections Elizabeth Black, the commission processed 2,292 new registrations in the week before the deadline.

“Registration always spikes the week of the deadline,” Black said. She said the number may increase as the office continues to add registrations that came in before the deadline.

Currently, Montgomery County’s voter registration stands at 109,788.

Election Day for the State General and City of Clarksville elections is Tuesday, Nov. 6.

Early voting will be held Wednesday, October 17 through Thursday, November 1, 2018 at the Montgomery County Election Commission (350 Pageant Lane, Suite 404).
