CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A Clarksville man has been arrested and charged with the rape of a male teenager.

Clarksville police began investigating the sexual assault allegation against 38-year-old Barry McCoy in November 2017 after receiving a complaint from the victim.

Based on the findings of the investigation, the Clarksville Police Department’s Special Victims Unit presented the information to the September 2018 session of the Montgomery County Grand Jury.

The Grand Jury returned a sealed indictment for four counts of rape, four counts of statutory rape, and patronizing prostitution.

Police said the victim was not a stranger to McCoy.

McCoy was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on September 18 and his bond was set at $30,000.
