CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (ESPN CLARKSVILLE) Clarksville native Nate “The Train” Landwehr put on a devastating show in the city of Ingushetia, Russia Saturday, June 21 to win the M-1 Global Featherweight World Championship.

The win brings Landwehr’s professional record to 11-2.
His opponent and defending champion, Khamzat Dalgiev, came in seven pounds overweight at the weigh-in on Friday, which led to a pre-fight scuffle that added some hype and energy to the atmosphere.
Once in the octagon, Dalgiev tried to derail Landwehr with headbutts and eye-gouging, but was answered with a flurry of repeated punches to the head, forcing the referee to stop the fight.
Landwehr is a product of the SSF Submission Academy Fight Team in Clarksville.

Landwehr’s win marks a historic moment in Clarksville sports with the city’s first ever combat sports world champion.
