Public invited to Dunbar Cave for ‘Meet the Manager’ event

This public event is an opportunity for the community to meet park staff and receive an abbreviated guided tour of the park’s caves and reclaimed prairie.

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Dunbar Cave State Park will formally welcome new Manager, David Britton, on Thursday, July 19, at 1 p.m.

This public event is an opportunity for the community to meet park staff and receive an abbreviated guided tour of the park’s caves and reclaimed prairie.

“Tennessee State Parks and Dunbar Cave State Park visitors are lucky to have David at the helm as his passion for the community and his knowledge of the history of the park is incomparable,” said Brock Hill, deputy commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation.

Britton is a Clarksville native and has worked for Tennessee State Parks for more than a decade at Port Royal State Park and Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Austin Peay State University with a specialization in Early American and Native American history.

Dunbar Cave has undergone improvements recently, notably on Swan Lake as well as enhanced cave programming. The park also features a new gift shop for visitors.
