The Tried-N-True Academy is a curriculum-based training program that provides a learning environment that students need to get started in the professional wrestling industry.

The program also provides an opportunity for individuals with previous training and experience to further develop their skill-set. In addition to learning the basics and fundamentals of professional wrestling, students work on conditioning, weight training, cardio endurance training, goal specific nutrition advisement, and more.

The Tried-N-True Academy is located at Olympic 24 Fitness (2040 Woodlawn Road) in Woodlawn, TN.

“I have a coaching staff with the top credentials and experience in charge of training and development. We launched our first program in April, which was a 12-week beginners course for individuals with little to no experience. We currently have 15 students on track to graduate the first Beginners Course on June 24,” Tried-N-True owner Anthony “Crimson” Mayweather said.

The current beginners class consists of many different personalities with the common goal of pursuing their dreams of entering and maintaining a career in the professional wrestling/sports entertainment industry. The class consists of 15 students ranging in age of 18-35, each with their own unique back story.

“We have two 18-year-old students that graduated high school this year. Both had to balance wrestling training with their school hours, work, and activities. We have one female student enrolled, who has broken many barriers and put to rest many misconceptions of the pro wrestling industry being profession in which only males can excel and succeed. She is working hard to create her own destiny within the wrestling business and is a stand out at the Tried-N-True Academy,” Mayweather said. “We have a US Army veteran who has multiple deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. This student, like many soldiers deployed in combat, at times struggles with post deployment complications. However, this veteran has found a home in TNT, and through his training with us, has developed a positive outlet to help cope with and ease those post deployment stresses. We have a student that has Autism who has broken out of his shell and developed a flourishing social life that was missing before, in pursuit of chasing a dream. Without making any changes to the program we integrated him into the class and through his passion, hard work, and dedication, he is having the time of his life while being challenged daily. In addition to those unique stories we have a great group of students that collectively show great potential to reach their goals.”

The current class will graduate on June 24, and upon completion of the Beginners Course, they will be rewarded with a platform to showcase what they have learned in front of a live audience. They will all have their first professional match on July 15 at the Tried-N-True Academy ‘Student Showcase’, which will be a live wrestling event with matches featuring both the graduating students and experienced talent including Crimson, his tag team partner Jax Dane, TNT Academy Head Coach Jeremiah Plunkett, Crazzy Steve, Rebel, and more.

This event will be open to the public and take place at The Sango Event Center at 6 p.m.

“Whether it’s a dream of becoming a professional wrestler, wrestling manager/valet, referee, or any other role in the industry, we will provide a great training environment giving our students the best opportunities to succeed, while helping them grow individually, and professionally,” Mayweather said.

The next Tried-N-True Academy Beginners Course will begin on Sunday, August 5. Instructors will also be introducing a new Intermediate Course which will focus on more in-depth training, expanding in-ring and out of ring knowledge, extensive focus on character development, psychology, and advanced move-set development. The Intermediate Course will begin on August 7.
