ASHLAND CITY, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Police have identified two people who were killed in a single-vehicle crash in Cheatham County early Monday morning.
The crash happened on Little Marrowbone Road in Ashland City.
According to a THP crash report obtained by WKRN News 2, the car was traveling southbound on Marrowbone Road when it left the roadway. The car got back on the road and crossed the center line.
Troopers said the car went off the left side of the road and struck a tree. The car became airborne and struck another tree on the roof.
The Ashland City Fire Department reported the vehicle was found 15 feet down an embankment with the rear of the vehicle partially submerged in a shallow creek.
29-year-old Joshua Guye and 25-year-old Joseph Duffle were both killed in the crash. Another 28-year-old passenger survived.
Some passengers were ejected during the crash while others had to be extricated from the wreckage by rescue crews, according to the fire department.
According to a crash report obtained by News 2, Guye and Duffle were both wearing seat belts and the passenger that survived was not.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating.
First responders from Cheatham County, Ashland City and Vanderbilt’s LifeFlight assisted the victims in the crash.
