CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (ESPN CLARKSVILLE) The Rossview Track Club (RTC) was founded in 2015 by a group of dedicated volunteers to offer Track & Field as a sports option for Rossview Middle School that is not currently available in the Clarksville Montgomery County School System (CMCSS).
The RTC operates under the United States Track & Field Association for administrative oversight, coaching education, and competition. To date, the RTC is self-sustaining and is the only active Middle School Track & Field program in the local school system that competes in school districts throughout Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky.
Since 2015, the popularity of the RTC continues to expand and the team is averaging 45 middle school runners per year. The success of the RTC program is due to the unselfish support from many parents, grandparents, and volunteers who support the coaching staff and student-athletes.
On Thursday, April 19, the RTC participated in the “Coach Moore Middle School Classic” at Fort Campbell, KY and the team claimed its first overall victory placing first in both the boys and girl’s categories and say they are just getting started.
