CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (ESPN CLARKSVILLE) The Clarksville Screaming Eagles is a new organization that was founded in January 2017 by Pooky Bogertey, Shaston Robinson, and Scott Young. The program is dedicated to teaching the youth of our Ft. Campbell-Clarksville community the fundamentals and proper techniques of tackle football.
The emphasis is on developing physical fitness, sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership skills in a positive and safe environment. They strive to provide opportunities for all participants to develop individual skills and abilities while being a contributing member of a team.
The Clarksville Screaming Eagles are currently representing the community with two football teams, The Tiny Mites (ages 8 and under) and The Super Division (ages 13 and under). They have been competing in the Youth Spring Football League since March of this year.
The young men have worked hard this season by competing with other youth football teams from AL, SC, GA, and FL, showing that they have the skill to compete against teams that have been established for several years. Some of the star players are:
Super Division
• Offense: Travis Frey from West Creek Middle School with 153 passing yards and 4 touchdowns
• Offense: Mahlik Booze from New Providence Middle School with 244 rushing yards, 151 receiving yards, and 4 touchdowns
• Defense: Malachi Miller from New Providence Middle School with 17 tackles, 1 fumble recovery and 1 interception
• Defense: Gabriel Moore from Liberty Elementary School with 17 tackles and 2 sacks
Tiny Mites
• Marshawn Lawrence from Oakland Elementary with 13 tackles, 2 sacks, 110 rushing yards and 1 touchdowns
• Jmicah Jordan from Baker Mills Elementary with 13 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 force fumble, 25 rushing yards
• Robert Rideau from West Creek Elementary with 13 tackles, 86 rushing yards, 1 touchdown
This is the Clarksville Screaming Eagles’ first year to play in the league and they have truly shown their passion and commitment to become better athletes. They have already been recognized as the 2018 Youth Spring Football League State champions. The Tiny Mites and the Super Division will be playing in Chattanooga TN on April 21st for 2018 Youth Spring Football League Regional Championships.
Some of the young men on the team have never been out of Clarksville so having the opportunity to play the sport they love outside of the city has allowed them to gain lasting experiences travelling.
Please help support these young athletes as they get ready to embark on something that is bigger than themselves as they prepare for the Regional Championships and subsequently to Florida for the 2018 Youth Spring Football League Super Bowl.
