DICKSON COUNTY, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The parents of 5-year-old Joe Clyde Daniels appeared in a Dickson County court Friday morning.

Joseph and Krystal Daniels were arraigned after their son Joe Clyde was reported missing last week.

WKRN News 2 reports that a group of supporters of Joe Clyde spent hours in front of the courthouse with signs, chanting “where is baby Joe?” as both parents were led in and out of the courthouse.

Joseph Daniels has been charged with murder in the death of his son and Krystal Daniels has been charged with child abuse and neglect. She was reportedly present when her son was killed.

Both are scheduled to appear in court again on June 1.

News 2 says that when Krystal Daniels was asked if she understood the charges against her, she replied “I guess.” She also said she cannot afford an attorney.

Joseph Daniels was arrested April 7 and charged with homicide in the death of Joe Clyde. Krystal Daniels was arrested three days later and charged with child abuse and neglect.

The search continues for the body of the 5-year-old, who was initially reported missing on April 4. Authorities say the parents have been uncooperative and have not revealed the location of the child’s body.
