CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Warmer temperatures are on their way to the Clarksville-Montgomery County area.

The National Weather Service says temps will reach about 19 degrees today before dropping back down tonight with wind chill values as low as negative 2.

However, temps will warm up above freezing by Thursday with sunny skies and a high of 34. The snow still lingering in the area will likely begin to melt. By Friday, a high of 43 degrees is expected.

As of Wednesday morning, most main roads in the city and county are clear and passable. However, as temps remain well below freezing, some icy patches may persist, especially at night when black ice may be present.

CPD spokesman Jim Knoll said there were 15 crashes and 15 motorist assists in the city between the 16 and 17.

Sandra Brandon with MCSO said there were 13 weather-related traffic incidents in the county.
