CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – An abandoned puppy who was brought into Montgomery County Animal Care and Control is in need of donations to save his life.

The Yorkshire terrier, who was named Braven, was taken in for emergency care after he was found abandoned on a porch in a small crate.

The 12-week-old puppy was initially taken to Animal Medical Center where he was treated for coccidia, diarrhea, extreme infection, and possible anal trauma.

A referral to Blue Pearl concluded that emergency surgery would be needed to save this puppy’s life. Surgery has been scheduled for Tuesday, January 9.

While Animal Control is not funded to provided this type of required medical care, the community can donate using the Youcaring account named “Braven Scout” that has been set up for the puppy’s surgery.

As of Friday afternoon, the account had raised $682 of the $3,800 goal.

All donations go directly to Braven’s medical care.
