CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A single mother of three is in need of assistance from the community after a weekend house fire left them without a place to live or even basic necessities.

According to a report from Clarksville Fire Rescue, the blaze on Southern Dr. was started by a malfunctioning oven in the kitchen.

Fortunately, Deborah Rhodes and her three children (ages 5, 10, and 11) escaped from the house unharmed.

However, the fire caused extensive damage to the home and the Rhodes are now in need of donations.

Rhodes’ coworkers have started a Meal Train fundraiser to provide food for the family. Those who wish to help can make a monetary donation or sign up to make a meal for the family.

The Red Cross and Clarksville Housing Authority have also been in contact with the family to provide additional assistance.

The family also needs clothing, which can be dropped off at 110 Bluegrass Rd. in Clarksville.
