HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) arrested a Hopkinsville man Tuesday afternoon on charges related to possession and distribution of child pornography.

28-year-old Daniel R. Knoll was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering Knoll sharing files of child sexual exploitation online.

Investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in Hopkinsville on December 19, 2017. Electronic equipment was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing.

Knoll is currently charged with 19 counts of distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor and 20 counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor. Each charge is a Class-D felony punishable by one to five years in prison.

He was booked into the Christian County Jail.
