CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville police have arrested a suspect who allegedly stole a man’s vehicle and stabbed him during an argument that followed.

The stabbing occurred Nov. 1. in the area of Golden Drive. The suspect, Dalton Lawrence, fled the scene and a warrant was taken out for his arrest.

On Nov. 13 around 1:30 a.m., police were called to a business parking lot on Madison Street for a welfare check. The caller said a man had been sitting in his vehicle for about an hour. When police arrived they found Lawrence sitting in the vehicle. He had warrants on file for two counts of aggravated assault and theft of a motor vehicle.

He was booked into the Montgomery County Jail and also charged with possession of methamphetamine and unlawful drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $125,000.
