Ann Arnold (Westbrook) passed away quietly at Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville, Tennessee Friday morning after a brief illness. Her husband, children, family and many friends were at her bedside. Many more were in attendance with their hearts and prayers. She was 65.

Ann was a warm, caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all. She was a woman with a big heart and great sense of humor; she could volley a one-liner with the best of them. Few could match her for stubbornness when she cared about something or someone deeply. Yet her warmth and gregarious personality always showed through. In short, she was complicated, as all interesting people are. There isn’t a single person who knew her who isn’t sad today that she’s gone.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 28, from 4:00-7:00 PM at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home.

Mrs. Arnold was preceded in death by her parents, the late William Earl Westbrook and Ella Mae Tucker Westbrook. She is survived by her husband, Ralph Arnold of Clarksville; two sons, Stephen Westbrook Giles and Robert Scott Giles, both of Clarksville; stepdaughters Debra Sandifer (Sandy), Kimberly Whitmill (Sterling); stepsons, Bruce Arnold and Michael Arnold (deceased); two brothers, William Westbrook Jr., of Minneapolis, MN., and Bob Westbrook of Irvington, VA; nine grandchildren, Grace Giles, Caroline Giles, Benjamin Giles, Matthew Sandifer (Joanna), Keith Stokes, Daniel Rimorin, Jeremy Arnold, Jessica Arnold, and Alexa Arnold; and six great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross (Clarksville Chapter), 1760 Madison Street, Clarksville, TN 37043.

Arrangements entrusted to Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, 1510 Madison Street, Clarksville, TN 37040; (931) 645-6488.
