CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (ESPN CLARKSVILLE) – The long wait now seems to be over for the Austin Peay football team and fans. After back to back impressive wins for the Governors, they face a national powerhouse at home in UT Martin this Saturday at 6 p.m. at Fortera Stadium.

With confidence and support, the Govs (2-2) look to continue their winning ways. With Javaughn Craig leading the charge on offense with over 500 all-purpose yards already, and the defense recently ranked 6th in the NCAA for only allowing 241.5 points per game, Austin Peay poses a large threat to take down the Skyhawks (3-1).

This is definitely a tough game for the Govs, as UT Martin took down conference foe Tennessee State last week in a ranked matchup.

Will Healy and the Govs do have the ball rolling, or should I say stopped rolling, after only allowing Murray State to a measly 7 first downs and 88 total yards of offense.

With over 8,100 fans at the last APSU home game, there are bound to be even more this week, giving the Govs a well-earned home field advantage.

As the Govs continue to build, led by team captain Max Ewoldt, there is no telling how successful this season can become.

It is never too late to jump on this hometown bandwagon, so grab some tickets and grab some gear and get out to Fortera Stadium this Saturday at 6 p.m. to watch your Govs line-up against the UT Martin Skyhawks.
