CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville police are looking for a suspect who allegedly put a gun to a man’s head and stole his car.

Police said on Aug. 7 around 8:15 p.m. a man in his 20s offered to give the suspect, 29-year-old Eric Leandre Blackwell, and another man a ride to a Ryder Avenue address. The victim was an acquaintance of Blackwell.

During the ride, Blackwell opened the glove box and found a 9mm handgun that he pointed at the victim’s head while demanding money. During the ensuing scuffle, the vehicle was forced into neutral and the victim jumped out of the vehicle to get away.

Blackwell and the unidentified man drove away in the victim’s vehicle, which has not been recovered. The vehicle is a black Nissan Versa, TN tag E22-48C.

Blackwell is 5’7″ and weighs 160 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair. He is currently wanted for aggravated robbery, theft of a motor vehicle, and violation of probation. Police said he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Blackwell has an extensive criminal history criminal history involving drugs, aggravated assault, and weapon charges.
