COLUMBIA, Tenn. (ESPN CLARKSVILLE) The Clarksville National 12 Blue All Star team got off to a great start Saturday in their first game of the Tennessee State Little League tournament by beating West Knoxville 24-3.
The boys in blue rolled up nine runs in the first inning and didn’t let up. Cooper Wallace led all hitters going five for five including two doubles a home run.
Paris Pridgen was four for five with a home run also. DJ Meriweather was also hot at the plate going three for four. Brent Wisdom also added a home run. Laine Welch, Paris Pridgen, Jay Watson, and Brent Wisdom combined threw 48 strikes through four innings giving up only one hit.
Clarksville National will now take on Tullahoma Sunday at 2pm.
