CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A truck hit a stationary motorcycle Saturday, Oct. 12 around 2:53 p.m. on Hwy 76 near Old Farmers Road in Clarksville.
According to Officer Natalie Hall with the Clarksville Police Department, firefighters were en route to a fire call when they witnessed the black Chevrolet S-10, driven by Francisco Jimenez, continuing at a high rate of speed while all other traffic had stopped. The truck switched lanes and hit the motorcycle from behind, sending both occupants of the bike into the intersection.
The 2007 Harley Davidson was driven by Timothy Cutrell, of Pleasant View, and his 16-year-old daughter was the passenger. Both victims were transported by Lifeflight to Vanderbilt Hospital.
Cutrell has sustained serious internal injuries and will require several surgeries. The 16-year-old has serious injuries as well, but no broken bones. Authorities say she is doing well.
