NASHVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A recent report by The Tennessean says Tennessee Senator Mark Green (R-Clarksville) is under consideration to be President Donald Trump’s choice for Secretary of the Army.
Later Wednesday, New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman tweeted confirmation from a senior administration official that Green is in the running.

Green recently announced a bid for the governor’s race in 2018 following his election to his second Senate term in November. It is unclear whether this report will affect that decision.
