Jimmie Eugene Melton, age 83, of Clarksville, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017, at Tennova Healthcare.
Jimmie was born November 9, 1933, in Christiana, TN, to the late A.B. Melton and Mattie Sue McCullough Melton. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Douglas Glenn Melton.
Jimmie was a retired SFC from the US Army, having served over 20 years, including two tours in Vietnam, where he earned a Bronze Star. After retirement, he worked as an LPN at Blachfield Army Community Hospital.
A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, February 28, at 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, where full military honors will be rendered. Visitation will be Monday, February 27, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, and Tuesday, February 28, from 10:00 AM until the hour of service, at the funeral home.
Jimmie is survived by his wife, Marilyn Nale Melton; daughter, Kathy Sue Melton; brother, Sam (Andrea) Melton; two sisters, Nancy (Larry) Elkins and Sepal Kay Hargis; and several nieces and nephews.
