CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Q108 morning team, Ryan and Gretchen, will host a Halloween themed dance to support soldiers and families dealing with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injuries.

The Zombie Prom, scheduled for Saturday, October 19, is Ryan and Gretchen’s second annual fundraiser for S.A.F.E. (Soldiers and Families Embraced), which provides free and confidential counseling and peer support for active duty soldiers, veterans and families.

Last year’s “Funkified Formal” took tackiness to the extreme, with attendees decked out in their gaudy thrift store best. The event raised $4,000 for S.A.F.E and Ryan and Gretchen are hoping to raise even more with this year’s event.

The theme of this year’s fundraiser is a Zombie Prom. “Zombie is the new vampire,” said Gretchen. “As an adult there just aren’t that many excuses to dress up for Halloween anymore, so here’s your excuse, and for such a good cause!”

Tickets for the event are $30 at the door, with 100 percent of the funds raised going directly to S.A.F.E., thanks to sponsors Trane and PenFed Credit Union. The price includes a night of dancing, food, nonalcoholic beverages, and a costume contest with awards.

The dance is 21 and up as Budweiser has supplied beer that will be available for an additional donation.

This year the event will be held at the newest, most elegant, setting in Clarksville: The Belle Hollow Event Venue. Located next to Miss Lucille’s at 2231 Madison Street, it will be the perfect foil for the masses of undead attending the event. “We can’t say how much we appreciate them waiving their fee for the night in support of the soldiers,” Ryan said.
