CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Clarksville donation drive for the victims of last week’s wildfires in East Tennessee will continue through Thursday, December 8 at noon according to organizers.

The drive, organized by several Clarksville firefighters, is working in tandem with the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) to collect items that are most needed and to coordinate delivery with state officials on the ground in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.

As of Monday morning, 14 are confirmed dead, 100 injured and more than 1,400 structured were burned or damaged.

The items that are needed most are in order:

  • Hygiene items
  • Canned and dry goods (no glass)
  • New underwear, bras, socks and gloves

Volunteers will be needed Saturday to sort items and pack them onto pallets so they can be distributed more quickly. A warehouse has been secured for the sorting (location and times will be announced by Friday).

Donated items will be loaded onto a semi-truck provided by Jones Brothers Towing.
