CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville police have arrested an 18-year-old believed to be responsible for the death of a 53-year-old woman whose body was found Thursday.

Javian Jakeil Hawkins has been charged with criminal homicide and is currently being held in the Montgomery County Jail on a $2 million bond.

Police found the body of Julie Ann Rosario behind an abandoned property on the 400 block of Beech Street Thursday afternoon.

An arrest warrant for Hawkins said two witnesses told police Hawkins admitted to the murder of Rosario.

During a police interview, Hawkins made statements indicating he had knowledge of the death of the victim and said a handgun found in his home would likely be the murder weapon.
