Robert Nelson “Bob” Mullins, 90, died at his home Tuesday, September 24, 2013. He was born January 30, 1923 in Chattawa, MS, son of George Nelson Mullins and Marie Rife Mullins.

Mr. Mullins was retired from Fluor Corporation, in Irvine, CA. He spent 8 years working for Fluor Corporation in Saudi Arabia and Algeria. He was a veteran of the Seabees, 17th Battalion during World War II, serving in the Pacific and Atlantic Theatres.

Survivors include his wife, Rita Ewald Mullins, three sons, Robert N. Mullins II (Judy), Seattle, WA; Raymond E. Mullins (Jody), Atlanta, GA; and David N. Mullins (Donna), Newburgh, IN; one daughter, Suzette L. Mullins, Greenwood, MO; three brothers, George M. Mullins, Texas (deceased); Julio Mullins, Louisiana; and Claude E. Mullins (Carolyn), Mississippi; 3 granddaughters, 1 grandson, and 5 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Pastor Larry Peters officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m., Friday, September 27 and Saturday, September 28, from 11 a.m. until the hour of service, at noon. The cremated remains will be buried at Bluff Springs Cemetery in Osyka, MS at a later date.

Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Montgomery County Humane Society.
