CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month. Approximately 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will develop invasive breast cancer during their lifetime, according to www.breastcancer.org.
Nearly everyone knows someone who has already been affected, including mothers, wives, sisters, co-workers or daughters.
Locally owned business Action Air wants to show their support this month. For every service call in the month of October, Action Air will donate a dollar to the After Breast Cancer (ABC) program at the Clarksville YMCA.
Action Air recently teamed up with the Clarksville Humane Society and helped raise over $900. “It’s so important to give back to the community. The ABC program at Clarksville’s YMCA is such an excellent program and has helped so many women re-gain their strength, their confidence and their lives back. This is totally free for the women that participate. That is why it’s so important, for those that can, show their support and donate,” said Action Air owner, Joy Kraeske.
After Breast Cancer provides comprehensive nutrition, exercise and wellness services free of charge to breast cancer patients and survivors. Visit the YMCA’s website for more information.
