NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Metro Nashville police have released the identity of a woman killed in a drive-by shooting on Interstate 24 Sunday morning.
The victim was 18-year-old Liliana Rodriguez, of Madison.
She was riding in the backseat of a Ford Mustang driven by her 20-year-old brother, Rodrigo.
According to police, they left the La Mansion Hall Club on Antioch Pike around 5 a.m.
As they were traveling westbound on I-24 near Briley Parkway, someone in a dark blue or black Infiniti G35 with blue LED light bar over the license plate opened fire, striking Rodriguez.
She was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she died.
Her brother and two other passengers in the car were not injured.
Metro police on the scene initially told News 2 an altercation occurred at the nightclub. However, officials later sent a press release stating this was not the case.
