OAK GROVE, Ky. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The body of a man found on Carter Rd. by an Oak Grove police officer has been identified.
The victim has been positively identified as De’Andre Marquis Palmer, 19, Clarksville, TN. Palmer was reported missing on July 17, 2016, to the Clarksville Police Department.
Palmer’s body was found in a wooded area of Carter Road close to Ghost Bridge. The body was found several feet from the roadway after the officer was investigating a strong odor that he noticed while on patrol.
Police have named Deqavion M. James, 18, Oak Grove, as a suspect. He was arrested Wednesday after he turned himself in at the Hopkinsville Police Department shortly after 3 p.m. He is currently in custody of KSP Detectives and will be booked into the Christian County Jail.
James will be charged with murder, 1st degree robbery, and tampering with evidence.
